Thursday, February 19th, 2009 Harley - Adopted! Update: Harley has officially had her luck change! All in the same week she has had a generous donor pay for her surgery and she has found her forever home.
The group at Boston Baked Bonz has come forward to donate the money needed to cover Harley's surgery in addition to becoming an Official Sponsor of AdoptALab.org. (When you visit their site you'll notice that a couple of the members of their Testing Squadron, the dogs checking to make sure their treats are delicious, are AdoptALab.org alumni.) AdoptALab.org would like to thank Boston Baked Bonz and Harley's new mom, Madeleine, for their support of Harley a very deserving rescue Labrador.
Economic hardships hurt everyone these days. Harley is our newest victim. This girl had a great home and somehow was hit by a car. That is when her luck really started to change. Her mom could qualify for financing to fix her injuries but Harley needed a few additional surgeries and her mom is completely tapped out.
Harley has had a plate in her back for some time now that has been causing her pain and infection. Her mom could not afford the 500.00 it was going to take to remove the plate. Adopt A Lab stepped up and said we would take Harley and her medical issues and not only would we fix her, we would find a new home for her too! Her original mom was afraid in these economic hard times that she would not be able to give Harley the kind of life she deserved, so she asked us to find her a nice new family that would love her as much as she did.
Harley is at our vet Dr Heather's hospital and is getting checked out. The original estimate for Harley's surgery was around 500.00. We think we can raise this money with your help. Please donate what you can for the start of Harley's new life.
